The following is a writeup on duplications under the head 'Reconstruction Anomalies' in the Core Biblical Arena or Levant. Duplications clearly represents reconstruction anomalies, as, instead of one entity, two are fielded. |
Ammon, Kadesh, Mount Casius are duplicated in the current reconstruction of the core biblical arena. Meaning, there are two of each in the reconstruction.
There is one Ammon in Siwa in Africa and there is another Ammon in the Near Eastern arena which is now called Amman as is in modern-day Jordan. With regards to Kadesh, there is on in southern modern-day Israel and there is another in modern-day Syria which is called Kadesh on the Orontes. There is one Mount Casius near Samandagi in modern-day Turkey and another in modern-day Egypt. These are straightfoward duplications and acknowledged as such by biblical scholars and Egyptologists. These ‘same name’ entries represent to a large extend alternative reconstruction ideologies and have been included in the reconstruction map as 'yet to be mulled over' or 'can't decide' ones or 'we let him keep it' entries.
There is a river too in the biblical arena that is duplicated. Since they go by different names, you will need to follow the whole argument to be convinced. This one is either an inadvertency or one that is sleight of hand.
Of course, the biblical arena is home to the Ethiopia - Canaan which may be said to be the mother or great grandmother of all duplications. The whole thing is one major mess and one really ought to track these scholars down, and at the very least, rescind their diplomas ask for a refund!
